Geraldine Ferraro: Obama's Winning Because He's Not White!

On Tuesday evening Ms Ferraro talked with John Gibson about super delegates, and her concern that they are following popular trends instead of sticking to their guns and supporting Hillary Clinton. She questioned whether Obama's candidacy would be where it is today if he were white.

Saying that Obama is in the position he's in because he's black is akin to saying that Jackie Robinson only got a shot at the major leagues because he was black. Ferraro is stupid and bigoted. It's a good thing she never got to be Vice President.

As much I disagree with and ridicule her, she's right on this one. Obama only served one term as a senator. (Basically he has less experience than Palin or Quayle) He simply became president simply because he was black.

I guess that makes perfect sense, right? You say politics is a popularity contest --- perhaps, people felt Obama's message was more popular. Ferraro was speaking to her unconscious bias and she forever tarnished her legacy.

Not quite the same thing. Sports deals with talent and ability and politics is basically a popularity contest. She just said the truth man. She said that he had very little experience prior to running for president. She didn't say a black man isn't qualified or can't be president, just that he is getting a lot of attention because he is black.
