The true company is that a LEGIT version of the game is being made for the DS.
Of course, they have to change some aspects; the "Goomba Owls" are now very obviously owls, for instance.

that`s complete bullshit. there was no 5 years planning at this time for a computer game!!!....neither "millions" were involved.
but......you are right. it is one of the greatest games ever! when this game was released, the developers had only weeks to finish it.

@mrsid6581 Ah, okay. Thanks for replying. :)

Wow, I remember playing a version for this on DOS over a decade ago. It's such a strange game through the graphics, the way the game mechanics work, and the strange music, but because of those things, it had a very particular charm. Thanks for the nostalgia :)

Super mario bros rip off, but it's good, but i prefer mario, because it's god of all games.
it's not a conversion, it's emulation. (C64-Emulator for Nintendo Ds - FrodoDS - )....this definatly the C64 version of GS emulated on a DS. The DS-Version looks much better, but don't forget that the C64 version was made about 20 years earlier ;)

@samplesmasher No, it's not FrodoDS. If you download from the link on the right and play it, you'll see.

OK, not FrodoDS, but it's still emulation or isn't it? looks like a routine which creates a single-nds-file from every c64 game? Don't think i'm respectless, i DO respect this work!

@samplesmasher It's a little bit more complicated than that. It's a lot of manual work.

@mrsid6581 Would you consider releasing the source for this, at all? I'd love to see this running on the GPH Caanoo... :)

@PedroLambrini It would be easier to write it from scratch. This is totally tailored to use NDS graphics hardware. The Caanoo is fast enough to just run a C64 emulator, so no need for my trickery.
