My Mini is semi-healthy again, not as fast as 2004 when I could hit 100mph easily and quicky, but better than it was when it was not running, still more problems to figure out. we ran 4 laps to benefit the Alabama Red Cross tornado disaster relief, GREAT fun !, I saw 92 mph but some people said we were at 108 tops so I don't know if my speedo is off, the guy driving the pace truck said we would be doing 100 average, much more exciting than the video shows, on the banking I could let go of the steering wheel and my Mini would find it's line and track around on it's own, it was weird looking at all the black tire marks from the wrecks, the track workers said in 20 years they had never seen a Mini on the track, they were all coming over to check it out and ask questions, I would of thought they had seen it all. in the photos I look like a speck on the wall. I ran Dega on my Ducati before but this was much more fun.

  • Don't buy an automatic Mini unless you are thick skinned and can ignore the ugly rude hateful comments from the purists in the Mini community, I've even been called a liar about the speed of my Mini or that I faked it, even though I show the speedo and tach they don't believe a stock auto Mini can do these speeds, it's actually slower now than 2004, then I could hit 105 mph easily, and 110 on the back straight at Road Atlanta but that has a downhill section halfway down before the bridge.

  • Awesome! Four of us with newer style Minis ran together on the 6th. You can find our video in two parts.

  • @heavymetal2k6 Friday a white Shelby Mustang got scared and quit in turn 1, how embarassing is that ?, they took a photo of it leaving the track.

  • It would have been great to get everyone together on the same day. It was a lot of fun.

  • @mbarje Man Shelbys took a beating last weekend. On saterday there was a green 1967 GT500 that over heated and had to be towed away. Heartbreaking to say the least. He was still using belt driven radiator fans It's worth the time and small lose in value to ad electric fans. way more reliable
