Small towns knew everyone and watched over each others children. It was safer. My parents were very careful, still I walked everywhere in my area of town, skating, riding bicycles, playing hide and seek at night in the streets. It was a wonderful and carefree with grownups who cared and watched over us. Elders, including teachers were obeyed. It was a totally different world. To have lost that is a tragedy.
