This is a true testimony on how durable CJ Anderson fixtures are. This thing is HEAVILY vandalized however the fixtures are holding up great.

  • I Googled this location and I couldn't find it. But when we both do our elevator tour, I plan to visit this elevator.

  • @Streetcar1743 we will. along with the others on the riverwalk, NIX hospital, and the Hyatt hotel.

  • @dieselducy With the carved in graffiti, I am going to ask Don Keys to teach me how to get rid of carved in graffitti. According to a movie from VIA's own channel, I have learned that the VIA Yellow Line serves a stop near the elevator.

  • @Streetcar1743 Once downtown we walk :) Cheaper and HEALTHIER than public transit. both austin and San Antonio, we drive downtown then walk elsewhere.. I only have to park the car once.

  • Are you the guy from life in a day????

  • @JohnnyJohnW yep I am :)

  • Maybe so, but it has that vintage mid-1980's design to it.

  • @skylerandcub That is neat to have a River Walk elevator system. Espcially when a wheelchair bus customer is being unloaded and that wheelchair customer wants to go to down to have coffee.

  • lol theres a kid staring at u on floor 1

  • @dieselducy Well it is. And it is another alternative to high gas prices. We also end up keeping the seats open on the VIA bus for the workers that clean the elevators that we film.

  • There is also a hotel across the street from the mall, a La Quinta Inn. There are five elevators, one is either a Dover or Thyssenkrupp that serves only the first five floors, a freight elevator and three elevators that serve all 15 floors. The main elevators are Otis and the freight I am guessing is Otis but it is hidden. The main elevators have an annoying fan but are very fast and smooth.

  • @Streetcar1743 There are several other elevators around the River Walk. Also, the Tower of Americas has some awesome Otis glass elevators with a two speed door on the outside and a three speed door inside the elevator, originally Lexan but now with new fixtures.

  • Someone decided to stash some water bottles in the shaft...maybe that's what the broken wire-mesh wall is there.
