  • Yeesh! I'm tired just watching it! You guys are just down the street and didn't even know it. Sweet!

  • I love Jiu Jitsu(the gentle way)! It gives me a choice depending on the situation, if i just want to just subdue my attacker. Or use a hard style like Boxing or Karate to inflict serious bodily damage.

  • @RollerCoasterGenius1 : In a Gracie insider ( I think) Rener and Ryron show a triangle from mount submission that involves "shooting" the leg deep behind the head. The brothers had a little disagreement about IF the leg should stop mid way and plant on the arm(Ryron) or shoot "direct" behind the head(Rener). Rener used the analogy If your flying to Florida do you want to stop in Chicago? or take a direct flight to Florida, whats more efficient ? Rener claims to fly direct, every time. :)

  • @scarred10 regardles of how long yove been doing it, self defence is self defence regardless of how "boring" it gets.

  • @aarbehghost what does it mean chicago

  • @lambosnicko why would sparring involve pulling guard? You should never have to pull guard against a non grappler, takedowns are there all day after the clinch if you spend time on your wrestling.I have my students(informal group with no payment involved) learn self defense first and then spar with those techs with gloves on.AFter that they do this once a week and the rest of the time train for sport and fun.Self defense gets boring when youve been training for 15 yrs.

  • @lambosnicko Majority of the time a dude doesn't know how to react when you know how to pull guard properly, and that mean's breaking posture and properly bringing him to the ground. Not jumping into guard while he's still upright, that's just asking to be slammed. You'd be shocked at how easy it is to dominate a dude who knows zero about grappling even on the streets. But any fighter knows that on the streets, being aware of your surroundings is paramount. I'm not disagreeing with you.

  • @scarred10 dont get me wrong i love rolling, but if you drop to your back in a street fight, which is what a lot of sports bjjers do, then your asking to get knocked out. rolling from a sports perspective can make fighters develop bad habits when its come to defending yourself in street fight.

  • @lambosnicko he disagreed with sports bjj ,not competition per se,after all he and his bros started vale tudo competition. You dont have to throw anything out the window but first get decent at defending yourself, then you can train for sport if you like but maintain the mma type sparring.Problem is self defense training gets boring after a while and youll want to just spar since there are objective measures of improvement there.

  • That was an awesome and very technical display of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!!
