May 23, 2011: After so many months of trying to get some update shots of the new 401 and Hurontario St new bridges and interchange, the weather held for me to do some shooting. From the looks of things, the first new bridge for southbound traffic should be open by the fall of this year. This will allow the existing bridge to be close and torn down to allow the building of the new northbound bridge. During the building of the new northbound bridge, provision will be made for the New LRT line in the middle of the 2 lanes. Work will continue to build the new westbound lane under Hurontario Street where it will connect to Britannia Road and Whitte Rd to cut down on the left hand turns at Hurontario and Britannia intersection. We can see the new collectors lanes being built to the west. Could not shoot the east section as there is no sidewalk area or any area to shot from the existing bridge.
