beginning with a bang - americas society

Beginning with a bang is an art exhibition curated by Victoria Noorthoorn that explores the course of the artistic gesture in an attempt to construct a genealogy of specific critical attitudes in argentine art. Far from attempting to formulate specific parallels between the works from different periods, the exhibition aims to make patent the continuity between these periods and their different position in relation with the art system. Thus by focusing in the artistic gesture, the exhibition attempts to present the viewers with two scenes (or networks of artistic communities) so that they may generate their own readings and associations as well as be exposed to what are certainly radically experimental movements.
