is this the recording by swd? and is it refurbished or unrefurbished?

@piemanlarger I have to agree... bit like a model boat without crew figures. I have 2 x Tamiya 1/16th Tanks, a Tiger1 & Leopard 2 A6 with full sound, they are true crowd pullers. A DCC sound chip for an 00 loco isn't that expensive, is it LordLemsip?

The Class 37 is one of the few diesel locomotives that may have the sound reproduced more faithfully by the decoders. "Tractor style" helps a lot. The Class 55 for example, has a bass sound impossible to reproduce a small speaker.

does that have a catalgoue code? As i am going to get one soon!

I wish I could have one!

wow that brill and ur track must be reali clean if it can pull away that smoothly great sounds aswell
I dabbled in sound but i thought it was an expensive gimmick. I see this it the "mk 4 setup". It probably is the future, but I'll let you and your wallet pay to test them for me until they get it "right" ! Still not enough bass.
Trouble is, sound doesn't "scale". Your engine still sounds bloody loud when it disappears out of sight.
And if anything, judging by the rrp of ready to run models, its acutally getting dearer.
Each to their own etc, but I sold my sound loco and dont regret it.

@LordLemsip
As you say.
And to me a loco with no sound may as well be unpainted, its that unrealistic. Did you try sound with bass speakers, adds quite a bit to the bass and of course, U-tube does not re-produce sound at its best quality.
You should attend a show and try to hear the lattest sounds perhaps?
