yeah those craftsmen are junk. I mean god to mow but they are built weak. I had one with that 12hp tech motor and had starter issues. New starter and some other work and i got it sold. Made good money on it since i trash picked it.  I got a 1962 wheel horse and a 1978 case. Both are built 100 tiems better then the craftsman ever was.

My green and grey Craftsman mowers have been put through some pretty hard mowing conditions and have turned out just fine, only when I got the grey Craftsman I let the green one sit for a long time before I used it and then it decided to start throwing its deck and tranny belts. So now I hardly ever use it.

my son bought a troy built three weeks ago. be careful with these new mowers. the blade was so out of ballance I had to cut a 1/4 inch of blade off of one side and they put the blade on up side down. Must be a bunch of ass holes working there . If they answered my phone calls I wouldn't be posting.

You have a blown starter. I just had to replace one one my 20 horse craftsman. You can tell it's blown when it's making clicking sounds. Its real frustrating.

I forgot to mention we already had an engine lined for the Troy Bilt that was ready to go.

I don't remember the engine ever being seized up. I don't know how to unseize an engine except I think you can squirt penetrating oil into each cylinder and wait.
