The documentary is available in a 2-disc set for $25 through the film's web site, http://circuitcitystory.com, with fulfillment by Amazon. (The $25 price tag makes it eligible for free shipping!) The first disc includes the "Director's cut" of the documentary, which is a fascinating ride through the company's 60-year history featuring interviews with CEO Alan Wurtzel, CarMax CEO Austin Ligon, and a host of other long-tenured CC associates. The second disc includes interview clips that provide a deeper analysis of how and why the Fortune 500 company fell. It also includes an archive of TV commercials and orientation/training videos. Essential viewing for business leaders, educators, trainers and anyone who ever worked or shopped at the late-great retailer. Find out more by visiting http://www.circuitcitystory.com

  • Scott,

Thanks for identifying the lucky winner of the '56 Chevy! Can't believe it was your aunt!

I agree, another reunion is in order for January 16, 2011. I appreciate your interest and support.

  • I miss my job and my coworkers. I worked at 0755 for 9 1/2 years. I had much fun there. Peak was a killer thought :-) I miss my clamp, fork, and high lift. I even miss the tote mod (barely). I worked in PRC for a 3 years, receiving for 5 1/2 years, and the became the clerk for the x-dock program.

  • @WildWildHair

You played a critical role in CC's success!

    Which location was 755?

  • Thanks for your comments! You sold your stock at a great time! Like you, I left CC for CarMax back in 1997 when the company started making decisions that weren't very customer-friendly (remember the "restocking fees?").

    Stay tuned for more clips...

  • As great as it is to see these familiar faces, this breaks my heart! And hey Tom, consider mentioning our Associate Forum in your documentary. It was a pulse of the company that gave our people a voice and that beat mightily until the very end.

  • @MrsSoniaH

Thanks for your comment and suggestion. I'd like to learn more about the Associate Forum (I left CC for CarMax in '97 and I'm not familiar with it). Please contact me at tom.wulf@yahoo.com

    Thanks again,

    Tom
