Chris Shaw Tall tails from the Adirondack Mountains As a descendant of steamboat pilots, "pathfinders," and other rustic archetypes of the Adirondack region of New York State, Christopher Shaw is steeped in the lore of the American Northeast. Chris has done some steamboat piloting of his own, but it is in his professional role as a recording artist/performer that he carries forward the tradition of the great troubadour/storytellers who have enlivened parlors, taverns, and roadsides since America's colonial times.

I've enjoyed the music of Chris Shaw (and his wife Bridget Ball) since the late 80's... I used to spend my summers as an Adirondack (NY) wilderness guide and have turned many of those I guided on to his wonderful music and storytelling. I'm very happy to finally see Chris on YouTube!

What you have to love about this guy is three things:
He is a great story teller / musician - he's also a ladies man and a man's man at the same time!
A chronic lier, keeping a straight poker face, while leading you along with his impossible tales.
When all is said and done, you find yourself with a warm feeling deep down inside, and a pocket full of wooden nickles, that he slipped in there when you wern't looking!!!

I've never heard such a well-told story leading up to the segue to the actual cover. You began with personal history, an anecdote, then another musicians anecdote all while seemingly smart and cool. You tell great stories (which are important to acts like ours), we should swap some sometime.
