  • For God's sake people, it's a DL650. Look at the redline on the tach. DL1000's are at 9,500 not 10,500.

  • 650....

  • there is no power near the red line dude

  • RMMMM RED LINE Rmmmmmm RED LINE...................... I don't dare red line

oh, unless there's a safety factor built into engine..... hmmm I better call suzuki

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH nice

  • Haha yeah, thats right, I get your point, good on em! But the DL 1000 is not a diesel, nor is it a car, nor is the le mans a drag race, nor does it have equal rules for the different fuel types. Remember that power is finite and dictated by the maximum output of your engine while you can have as much torque as you want through gearing. So more power = more torque, end of story. The important part is getting the power delivery right, as in the case of those cars in that race.

  • unless you are at le mans, sebring or any alms sanctioned event where the tdi audis and puegeot diesels DOMINATE.

  • By the way, Torque sells Trucks..........Horsepower wins races.

Dont be conned into believing that torque is the win by Harley-Davidson and other antiquated American engine manufacturers. They have great marketing teams.

  • The V-Strom 1000 isnt a bad bike and amongst the adventure bikes its probably the quickest (I think MCN did a comparison on the strip, but thats before the 08 R1200GS came out). There is little magic in V engines, they put out a bit more of their torque potential at lower revs but they usually have less max torque than equal capacity inline 4 engines thanks to lower compression ratios and what not. The gear ratios are what redeem adventure bikes in a drag somewhat. But still...

  • Yeah bye dude.

    I'M the best
