„Motana Moon" (dir. By Malcom St. Clair) was a MGM high budget musical Western movie with Joan Crawford and Joanny Mack Brown. Two hit songs „The Moon Is Low" and „Happy Cowboy" were written by MGM's house composers Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown.
„The Moon Is Low" was very popular also in Poland as a melancholic slow-fox „Jesienny liść" (The Autumn Leaf) -- the tile having nothing to do with either Montana or the horse movie. It was sung and recorded by Chór Dana (Odeon).

Ormandy came to this country in the early '20's and played for silent films and radio orchestras. Also made some violin records. He got a good agent (Arthur Judson) who arranged for him to fill in for a sick Toscanini which lead to the Minneapolis job in 1931.

Ormandy is conducting that too! This was before he was famous - he became conductor of the Minneapolis Symphony in 1931.
