W.Terry Fox wrote this song in tribute to the British world champion boxer 'Randolph Turpin' who defeated the great 'Sugar Ray Robinson'. Terry who is an admirer of the Turpin family, wrote a definative biography of Randolf's boxing brother Jack, under the title 'Battling Jack', available from Amazon.
He has spent his adult playing music and writing. Starting in the late 50's playing blues and jazz with the 'Giles-Fox Hot Four', who supported Kenny Ball on his Scandinavion tour. In the sixties he recorded for Decca with the cult RnB outfit 'The Cops n Robbers'. His songs were recorded by 'The Pretty Things' and 'The Artwoods (who evolved into Deep Purple)' amongst others.
