  • This song is amazing. My friend passed away a couple years ago and wanted this song to be played at his funeral whenever the day came he died. We oned-up his request. The Format was in town the day of his funeral and we got them to perform this song at his service. The best experience of my entire life.

  • aw, the "this makes me cry" at the beginning is the cutest thing ever. (:

  • I used to have a version of this song where he held out "been" before he says hard. It was supposedly the (demo) version. But I no longer have it, and the other versions are just not the same... If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it :D

  • @acstcgutr4life That's amazing!

  • This is the only song I can still play on guitar. It pretty much was written exactly for me (even though it wasn't). It goes through my head at least once a day, reminding to keep going, because "It's time to get out of the desert and into the sun". But anyways, one of my all time favorite songwriters, and one of my all time favorite songs. I would like this to be played at my funeral , even though thats been done live before lol.

  • It's okay girl, it makes me cry too. :)

  • PLEASE RE-UNITE THE FORMAT!

  • This song is one of the few that i can listen to over and over and over and over and never get tired. It's such a beautiful song and such an inspiring story.

  • @acstcgutr4life sounds amazing. sorry about your friend though, but atleast he/she got a beautiful funeral. i would cry my eyes out.

  • @Assaultpredator 100% true story. I am from AZ, which is where Sam and Nate are from. They went to a high school that was only miles away from mine. My buddy Richie was good friends with Nate's ex-gf and that was how we were able to get a hold of them. They just so happened to play a concert here in Phoenix the day before his funeral service, and had an extra day to kill in AZ before heading out to New York. They decided to come to the service on their day off and play this for him. Amazing
