wow! thats why i try not to be close-minded when it comes to research because lots of magazines team up with the universities and colleges and find new things we all learned to say weren't possible....i have heard the same thing in my horse from time to time....with new research we learn new things about our horses everyday. very interesting thanks for sharing!

I don't think he is burping it sound like he is windsucking like @goodgoinchex said

Burping in horse is rare but I disagree with a comment that says it can cause the stomach to rupture. In fact it will alleviate distention in the gut. For instance if the horse is suffering from colic caused by a bowel blockage in normal horse it cannot escape through the bowel in a horse that can burp the pressure is alleviate through the burp.

Shows how brained washed everyone is!! They automatically think the horse must be wind sucking! Dont believe everything you read! Horses do burp, I have mare who as a yearling frequently got juvenile colic, however to my vets utter amazement she always went down only to give an almighty burp 5 minutes later and did actually vomit once and I tell you it smelled absolutely gross! He contacted several veterinary universities in the UK to report the case! So get off your soap boxes people!!!

i got a horse that dus that dus any1 know whey they do it the vet sed she was trying to get food off her teeth lol
Sounds more like he needs to have his teeth floated... he can't chew up his grain properly, so he has to cough it back up a little to finish chewing.

That sucks your horse is wind sucking and it's to bad you are contributing to this behavior because it is considered a very bad vice. Look it up it's really bad that your horse is doing that.
