This one is exactly like the locke I used to cut lawns with in the '70's. By far, the best lawn mower ever made. My father bought it in the early 1950's and my brother was still using it at his house well into the 2000's. He sold it for nearly $1,000 and it's still in use today!
i have an early 70's locke devere; it's pretty much identical to yours. usually fires up on the first pull. i also have the original saulki that came with it. it's a damn good mower, and i really like the paths it makes in the grass. i have a new troy-bilt rider, but i also use my locke [we've always called it the "crazy-horse"] every now and then.
over manufactured much?

It's amazing to see how little they've changed over the years. If it isn't broke...

Wish I had a locke, they are not common in California. I'm building a putting green next year so i'm going to get a toro greensmaster.
