Hard to really dismiss conservative claims of Obama angling for socialized health care as a conspiracy theory when he openly admits to that idea right here.
@GhostInTheShell29 Where are u? You obviously don't have a good lawyer. Discrimination is illegal in all 50 states. And no, under W.C. laws (if u had a good lawyer as we do, you'd Know) they have to make up The Difference In Income....we even made Money on the deal!
@TheHAMMER77777 Its common practice around here. And legally if they have less then 50 employees, its perfectly legal they don't have to beat around the bush and make up excuses, you get prego your gone.
By offering light duty, they can deny W.C. By giving just enough hours that you can't collect partial unemployment, they can pay you a lot less then usual.
@GhostInTheShell29 nonsense..nobody can be Fired for being pregnant...and if someone gets hurt in any state (my wife just did), they get W.C. (unless of course the job has Light Duty-which hers didn't-then W.C., or state disability would make up The Difference In Salary)..a lawyer Told me all this..we got one...Know your rights
@theRightizright overbearing oppression of most the work force? If a company has less then 50 employees it can legally fire a woman for getting pregnant. Companies can require people to work up to 18 hour shifts. Worked a 17 hour shift on friday no breaks. If someone gets injured at my job there is no workers compensation, they get "light duty" work. But only for a couple hours a week so that way they can pay them almost nothing even if the company was at fault for their injury.
@theRightizright As for the housing market... Bailing out the rich.. is not a socialist endevour. The bubble was created in part by failed Bush policy's so its not like the government wasn't already meddling in it. As for student loans are you saying the government is intruding into a government program!? OMG! If banks want to give out government backed student loans the government has a right to set the terms.
@theRightizright How does Obama giving away billions of dollars of tax payer money to the banks, and giving them interest free loans equate to a government take over? Earth to the Right the banks are taking over the government not the other way around.
Health insurance... For all their meddling we didn't get anything socially positive from it, haven't figured out what the point in the meddling was to be honest.
But they still charge whatever they want so the industry didn't get hurt.
Earth to ghost....earth to ghost....come in, ghost. Really, what part of the universe have you been living in? Certainly not here, where the liar-in-chief has set in motion the government takeover of the auto industry, the government takeover of the insurance world (1/6 of the U.S. economy, so I hear), government takeover of many banks, their intrusion into the (failed) housing market, student loans, overbearing oppression of most of the work force--are you serious?
