@jrlassiter sorry, but nobody's (except probably Seles in 91 and 92) was actually favorite when Graf was playing arround. :-D

@Querzeo i think it was 1995 when Conchi was the prohibitive favorite at Rolland Garros and Steffi came through to win. again.

Sorry, but Graf's FO94 semi-final was against Mary Pierce, who won the match, but eventually lost to Sanchez-Vicario in the final.
Maybe 93, 95 or 96...?

i wouldn't say Martinez was playing superb,
but u have a point.
take the '94 FO semi-final, same story.
Graf came back from injury, Martinez was the player 2 beat on clay, and Graf won

The diference of talent between this two players is so big, that even when Graf is not at her best, doing lots of unforced errors, specially in her tremendous forehand, and Martinez was playing suberb, Graf eventually wins in two tiebreaks...
Who said life was fair...? :-D
I think she did not have the nerves, leading 4-2 in BOTH tiebreaks...
