Charted at #49 on Billboard Hot 100 in September 1956. This song had been a #1 hit in 1927 for Gene Austin, #5 for Franklyn Baur in December 1926, #11 for Irving Kaufman in December 1926, and #11 for Roger Wolfe Kahn & His Orchestra in 1927. In 1956, it also charted #4 for Patience and Prudence in August (#28 UK) and #15 for the Lennon Sisters with Lawrence Welk in September (which I've also posted). Later, it charted at #30 on the Country chart for Dottie West in 1977.
Original Billboard review: "Artists cover the tune that is coming up via the Patience and Prudence disking. Should cut in for some of the action." Billboard rating: 78 out of 100.
Written by Billy Rose & Lee David.
The other side of this single is "Crazy Arms".
They are now in my number two spot, the Sisters still in #1. Love his doubling of "I know I know"! Thanks for giving us these versions!

@azw596 You're welcome! I think it's fun to compare the different versions of songs that were on the chart at the same time. This is the least known of the 1956 charted versions.
