When the bait shops are out of fiddler crabs, don't be discouraged. Put your heavy boots on and go gather your own shore crabs. At low tide when oysters are exposed, these small crabs can be a great free resource for when you want to go catch Sheepshead. And since they can easily be twice the size of fiddlers, you will attract the bigger fish.
I gather one day and take them home and put the bucket in a cooler with ice to calm the crabs down. Otherwise, the bigger crabs will crush the smaller.
