In this video Potassium thiocyanate and ferric chloride are mixed to make fake blood , this is also used on the hand to give the apperance of being cut.

Ferric chloride is highly corrosive and dangerous, so the potasium thing make it less corrosive and less dangerous when the reaction take place?
