The tenth BMW Motorrad Days very much centred on the 30-year anniversary of the BMW GS models. There is virtually no other motorcycle that has shaped the character of the brand BMW Motorrad like the "GS". In September 1980, BMW Motorrad entered entirely new territory with this model which founded the segment of the large travel enduro bikes. The bold venture certainly paid off: the GS now is the top-selling motorcycle in its class in Europe.

I love my 2010 R1200GS! I use it every day for commuting and during the holidays for my adventures in the Alps.

I have made 14000km in less than 20 days with r1200 adv if it's for non motorcyclists i'm not a motorcyclist.
The problem it's that the people, in our days, buy this bike for get attention out side a pub! The problem it's that thare aren't real motorcyclists..

The R80 GS was 167 kg, about 25 kg heavier than a normal fourstroke dirtbike of the day and about the same wieght as a 250 road bike of the day. (same as a CB250 honda) Now the GS is 223 kg for the spoke wheel one. Meanwhile the CBF250 honda is down to 138 kg. I rode the R80 down a bush track way back then. It was a great bike. I wouldn't even attempt to ride an R1200 on the road let alone up a sandy track. It's a motorcycle for non motorcyclists. So sad.
