Beedle Um Bum
Tampa Red
Acc : Georgia Tom (Thomas A. Dorsey), vocal/piano
Recordingdate : Dec 1928, Pm 12714, Paramount and also for Broadway Brw 5035.
Note :
This artist name is Hudson Woodridge !
Not, Hudson Whittaker ! ( Some people, say so ! )
This recording is one of his first, recordings in 1928, but a lot more were coming from Tampa, as we know !
He did a lot with The Hokum Boys, but it's another story and much more complicated, cause this band involved so many different settings and were in fact different bands.
Enjoy !

Beedle Um Bum,
which means,
I like you very much !
Perhaps "Bumble Bees", is more appropriate, cause they show up now in Springtime !

Thanks for posting. As a teenager, I heard the Jim Kweskin Jug Band's version. Great song! If O Brother Where Art Thou had been a miniseries, they'd have gotten around to Beedle Um Bum, those Foggy Bottom Boys!

I'm an old man and I play old Blues and Gospel from the Pre-War period, so I'm glad a young guy like you are listening, cause, I think the Music today come from the oldies.
Keep The Old Blues Alive !!!
Peace Brother !
