this is one of the parts atheists love to attack. and it's good that you found something to cover this base.
the age of the earth argument is an old favourite of atheists, especially the many uneducated ones roaming around here on youtube.

the six days in creation week should be view form function point of view sun set end the day and sun rise starts the day. Unless the function was different in that time I assume that day time period is close to how we know function of day today.

Yes, making a stand that the world is 6,000 years old is a horrible stance, because you have to deny gravity, the speed of light, radioactive half lives, geology and about half a dozen other sciences.
If you rationalize this entry in the bible as "oh, it's describing a period of many many years" that's just plain silly. If you can "Interpret" the bible any way you please, how can anything be sacred?

What entry is that? The Bible simply makes no claims on the age of the earth.

Very good - this section explains why making a big stand on the age of the earth does more damage than good.
