i love how you gently stick your hand into the water, then when it touches the bottom it looks like your attacking it

You appear to have a waterspot on the lense of your camera at the beginning of this segment. I believe it is best to film with these spots removed to gain the best quality. My friend once had a waterspot on his lense as well before I alerted him to it. Suffice to say after that incident it never happened again. Good luck with this pernickety issue and happy hunting!

mechanics have this thing that looks like a pen, it has one tiny but real powerful magnet at one end and it can be "extracted" same as a walkie talkie aerial so it becomes about 3 feet long. Obviously it only works for iron. You just sweep it over the area and it will pick the thing up.

.....@aaaarrrgggghh You're right. Magnets do come in handy while detecting. I use a strong neodymium magnet on my digging pick to find the iron faster. Some of my other videos show how I have it set up. Works great!

....@therichesthobo1 That's always a real danger along with broken glass. My technique is a little better now after a few cuts. Thanks for the comment!

a ping pong paddle would be good for swishing the water and silt back and forth

@micmoable You're right, it does work, but it's just another thing to keep track of. The hand actually works pretty well to as long as it's gloved. Thanks for checking out the video!
