This wasn't officially part of the "Pete Smith Specialties" series; this was actually an "Oddities" special, a title the studio often used at the time for "experimental" shorts involving color and other "unusual elements" involved.

Yes, and Una Merkel as the wife and Luis Alberni as the chef-- all familiar faces from 30s and 40s movies. It's two-strip Technicolor, which tended toward the peach and aqua, although this example is pretty faded, there are much more colorful examples out on video.
