USW Local 1660 members have been hit hard by rising gas prices. Their employer even gave them a check for one hundred dollars this month to help offset the cost of gas. USW Local 1660 members want to make sure John McCain knows that tax breaks for big oil while working families struggle is unacceptable.

  • The price of gas is as such roughly 75% of the cost is dependant on the world oil market. I.E the price of a barrel of oil. 15% yes 15% of that is in TAXES that the feds and states put on gas. The oil company takes 10% off that. So oil companies make 10 cents on the dollar while the feds take 15 cents and do nothing! Oil companies don't set the price. The world market does. And high cost isn't really all that bad. Some fields don't turn a profit when it's cheap. Get a new job if it sucks, sorry
