There was a large section of the main building that was torn down a few years ago. I used to work for the company that hauled the debris. All of it was contaminated with asbestos (as are all of the buildings there). At one point there was a company that was planning to rehab the whole facility to use as condos with horse stables. I think that plan fell through due to the immense costs to do it.

I live really close to this, they have not torn any of it down, instead they tried to board up the windows and such, but the druggies tore it down. By the way just a warning to anyone who goes in, the place is covered with asbestos which enogh of it can slowly kill you. I have been inside too and it is quite creepy, but i normall just swing on the rope swing which has been struck by lighting, but now a new and better one is up.

@nick85w @nick85w no its just outside of eldersburg right off route 26(ridge road to be exact, dont park near the rail road tracks!!! and o security got much tighter, they now have four wheelers and trip/noise cenors along the railroad and the paths to asylum

its not burned down...the place is falling apart...securety is easy to sneak by but u cant park ur car anywhere near it cuz if the police find it they will wait for you to come out...wen me and my buddy went there were doors opening and slamming in our face we heard a little girl scream and laugh....
