The entire public domain photo records of all the known surviving photographs from the beginning in 1826 to development in 1839 through to 1853. Montaged into ten minutes with a background music of my own composition.
To watch this parade of faces of people from a different time is a moving experience and best viewed in silence. However most modern people find silent viewing uncomfortable so I have blended some vocal tones electronically into a form of Gregorian chant for those that require musical accompaniment.
The images begin with a photo print of a boy with a horse This was an experiment in photocopying to achieve chemical permanency.
Next is Niepces Famous Window scene from his Studio. followed by his partner Daguerre's well known images.
The ball starts rolling in 1839 with Robert Cornelius in his self portrait (the first Human ever on film) then a parade of photos from the first year 1840 showing mainly anonymous workers posing for up to ten minutes of stillness to catch an image. The face of Samuel Morse pops up a lot as he was one of the first brave celebrities to endure the process.Dickens Lincoln John Brown Darwin Verne and Rossini are all here at the dawn of the modern age.
Before this time for the Thousands of years of Humanity, No Photographs were ever made. We can only see the previous years through the interpretation of Artists. all historical people and events prior to photography were illusionary and inaccurate.
The materials used in the many photographic techniques were known to the Romans Greeks and Chinese but Like the equivalent invention of the Phonograph they were never utilised. Religious prohibition on the depiction of the human form may be why there are no earlier images.

  • thanks for the effort but too fast a presentation. Also fading between shots makes you crosseyed at this high paced rate changing of photos - the viewer spend s half the time trying to adjust. Better off dividing all these shots into parts 1 and two or even three 10 minutes videos.

  • This pictureshow is looks like a movie instead of a photo selection show.

Its played too fast to see details. nevertheless it is better then nothing

  • this music is awful, you should die for adding that audio and the makers of the song should die too

  • but when was the camera invented?

  • man no one smiled back then,,,must have been a sin...

  • To Choowbz

From which Gregorian chant did you take this from? You did an amazing job with it, it sounds very beautiful, and the feeling you got across with music accompanied the photographs very well.

  • Nagyon ÉRTÉKES szép videó gratulálok!

  • Wow we're really approaching the worlds of machines! otherwordly being!
