This is a functional sculpture made consisting of $15.00 worth of material from UW SWAP (4 glass flasks, and stainless rods). The problem it addresses is the indoor fruit fly problem on the main floor of the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery. The solution is to attract the insects using a sweet smelling liquid which will fall into the solution or injest the soap solution and dieThe social value is reduction of the indoor fly population. It is aslo meant to be visually interesting, melding science and art.
