(Composed for the Coronation of King George II in 1727)
George Frideric Handel

Let thy hand be strengthened and thy right hand be exalted.

Let justice and judgment be the preparation of thy seat!
Let mercy and truth go before thy face.
Let justice, judgment, mercy and truth go before thy face.

  • I started singing in the choir when I was 5 years old in Sierra Leone, West Africa. None of us in the Soprano part could read a note of music. But the choir master spent his time to teach us our parts. Thanks God for the opportunity I had to grow up singing some of these beautiful coronation anthems and major choral works & Oratorios.

  • Amazing! Pure English Handel Style!

  • the part starting at 3.27 is killing me..how could such a piece of music be as delightful as this one !!

  • My girlfriend and I like classical music and I only share only my very favorites with her and we love Handel!

  • rgar163632- Those days are gone in Free Town. Sierra Leone has changed. Those were the good old days... Your remarks brings me so much joy... I was a little boy who never can read a note , but we performed works of great masters and was so enlightened during choir Sunday to show off our best... Thanks to our fathers

  • The best recording of Handel's Coronation Anthems ever. Sir David Wilcox is the best. He worked musical magic with Kings College Choir Cambridge.

  • @rgar163632 Such a great story! Thanks for sharing it!
