You obviously don't know Sean at all! He is one of the greatest trumpet players of all time. You are a foolish music critic as well. Do you realize he has played lead trumpet with two of the greatest bands of our time? I bet your "friends" can't say they have been working for Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton's band at Lincoln center. You had better check out some more cuts of Sean before you spout off again making ridiculous comments like this!

Yes, That's why Wynton has Sean Jones fly in to play in his band!!!

Good? Yes.
Great? Maybe.
World's Best? Probably not.
I can guarantee there isn't a version of Amazing Grace like this though,

Sean Jones is a great player and world class player, but please, listen to some more music and especially more trumpet music before you start throwing around phrases like "worlds best trumpet player".

Definitely one of the Jazz Trumpet Greats alive today and playing one of the most meaningful songs of all time. Hallelujah!

He is not nearly one of the greatest trumpet players of all time. Not to discredit his playing mind cause he's very good, but there is much better out there.

@heypepper Hey Pepper!!! Now I understand how you got to be first trumpet in your high school marching band! But Kissing the ass of the director is only exciting for the director!! Please be like the rest of us; USE your ears and if your soul resonates let the roars of joy harmonize with the rest of us!!! sincerely DrB

@DrFBM Wow, I did use my ears. I don't think my comment was an insult either. Sean Jones is a decent trumpet player. But to put him in the classification of one of the greatest (or the greatest)trumpet player of all times is highly pretentious. He doesn't hold a candle to guys like Dizzy, or Sergei Nakarajakov, or Bud Herseth, or Phil Smith, or James Morrison, or the list goes on and on. I'm glad you like his playing, I do too, but I was just trying to state fact.

@heypepper Well maybe if we slow down and feel the Miles Davis like influence of emoting and bending one's performance for the audience tofully know the moment, you too can unlock yourself from an analytical four dimensional universe!
