this is absolutely beautiful! may i suggest something? go and have a look at georgia odette! i just think that her voice will be just like this when she is older, and she is only 13 at the moment!

@RobbyLovesAriHest completely agree. renee fleming is a little heavy for me (she talks like a man almost, she has a deep speaking voice!) have you listened to Natalie Dessay?
-
@misterbenberry i like listening to everyone....hate or not....you're taking offense where it wasn't meant. i do like her singing the trees on the mountain! i just don't get all the hype....personally i find her technique to be dirty and her colors to be muddy and her sound too inconsistant to enjoy....i think bartoli is super talented but i cannot watch her. i am a price, freni, caballe fan. for new singers i think nicole cabel has it, hands down. how bout you?

@misterbenberry I guess what I am saying is if you see Renee Fleming's name, skip that video. We all know of singers whose voices we don't care for. We don't listen to them. Being a Bernstein fan does not mean you have to listen to a voice that you hate, just because the person is singing a Bernstein song.

@VantisDoroHall cuz i am a bernstein fan. i mean, were you aware of that?
-
@PianistandFencer Moi aussi.

@misterbenberry I don't understand why you would come to anything with Renee Fleming's name on it and listen, since you hate her voice so much. That doesn't make any sense. Are you aware of that?
-
@ccwgirl31289 Why do you hate her singing?
-
J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, J'aime Renée, !!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody else hate her singing as much as I do? lol
This is REAL singing. I want to see more contemporary songs sung classically... it's time to bring culture back to today's music, people, and this is the way! :)

I can appreciate the musical debate going on but I think the conversation is a bit silly. sure it's meant to be a "simple song" but it's right in the words "sing like you like to sing." Sure it was written in a time and for a performance that rejected oversinging, but it doesn't mean they can't be in the song. Bernstein was a genius (composer/conductor) and I don't think he'd shake a finger at this interpretation. He'd just be happy someone is singing it, and we're still talking about it.
