stretch the bow part of the cross bow and tighten up the string..this will make it alot more powerful and change that rope to thinner string or hardened twine like archery string

A better string would definitely help, also you may want to try either a length of graphite, or even a smaller diameter of PVC, inside the tubes you are using now to increase resistance.

You should show How do u make the small
-
use the pvc pipes you have to change them then you gotta change them but the have more tension

I concur with mylv1200wizardpwnsjk comments: the longer the bar the less force to bend, so if you try to shorten the bars on the "lazy" cross bow you should have better results. good luck, have fun and play safe

@Corn3yman And not only that a knot somewhere touching the wood also slows down
all i can really say shame i don't have the materials to make this else i would have made it and played a bit with the design

the rope is to soft use thinner rope

get some dowl slightly smaller than the inside of the pvc and stuff the dowl in there you will get more power .
-
you should have gone for a size thicker in pvc

...lose power when the arrow is released. Your string will tempt to jump up at the end of its travel, lowering your arrow trajectory and loosing power.
Good idea anyway, just do some more research. Good luck!
The longer the bar at the top is, the less force it takes to bend it. Think of it this way: say you have 2 paper clips that you are trying to break. You try to break the longer one which is approximately 4 inches and it breaks. The next one is 2 inches and is harder to break. The longer one has more length to apply force to and so it breaks more easily. The same goes for the bow. If you make the bar longer, you need to make the body longer so it will give a higher tension.

one thing i can that i can say for sure is that the string that youre using is too thick. try investing in some proper archery string
