This video is the closing titles from the Japanese special edition LaserDisc release of Tenchi Muyo in Love. While other editions had plain text-only credits with the English version of "Alchemy of Love", this version features new animation showing scenes from Tenchi's mother Achika's life. The Japanese version of "Alchemy of Love" is performed by veteran voice actress and singer Megumi Hayashibara, who also voiced the character of Achika in the film.

This video features dual language song subtitles. Click the options button in the lower right corner of the video player and choose the subtitle track from the "CC" (closed captions) menu. You may need to have a Japanese language pack installed to view the Japanese subtitles correctly.

  • Oh wow, this is MUCH better than the English version of the song.

  • I'm disappointed that Geneon did not use this ending on their bluray release of TMiL. Because this ending adds a little extra something and the song sounds 100x better.

  • This makes me want to crack open my dvd collection and watch hours of Tenchi...

    TENCHI-SAMA! 。◕ ‿ ◕。

  • Wow, I love the CC format for this. They should do this to all foreign music and have the romaji versions to sing along with!! I like this song and I sang the hell out of it. Sono toki futari....

  • This song brings back fond memories, Nice to see the original Japanese version!

  • The mix is off. The vocals could be better, but it should be tuned down even if it was exceptional. The English version is parsecs better (for once).

  • Oddly enough I don't care for the japanese one so much, which is highly unusual, probably because I heard the english one first and have an emotional attatchment to it already.. or that the japanese singer's voice is so high it hurts my ears.. or both.

  • @megahdith I'm planning on placing all three movies on ebay, as a set in the near future. And discarding my Ultimate Edition box set too.

  • @shadesofbluee aw :( well im still having trouble finding the dvd copy...i have it on tape that i bought recently. but i had the dvd when i was like 14 or 15 i believe and i loved it. but it got messed up and now i need a new one.. :(

  • @megahdith the bluray release is a direct copy of the theatrical version. So it only has the English version and none of the extra Tenchi Universe clips.

  • @shadesofbluee this song isnt on the bluray?

  • Nina Hagen singing very well this song!!! Better in English..
