From the looks of things, Super Astro must've been an overlooked gem in the realm of Lucha Libre.

Indeed. His match with Blue Panther(where this clip is from) is an unsung classic, in my eyes. Astro was ahead of his time, and for a man his size, could fly just as easily as someone half his size.

A few questions :
1) Which year is this video from ?
2) Let's say we compare 80's Lucha Libre and today's Lucha Libre. What changed ? Because it seems to me that nothing seems to change in Lucha Libre. Obviously I don't have that much knowledge of Lucha Libre, compared to WWE-WCW-ECW, but I'm curious about what changed.

As with most wrestling, Lucha has changed over the years. Moves have evolved, and some of the companies have shifted toward "sports entertainment" style storylines every now and again. That said, some of the wrestlers these days pull out some incredible dives and aerial moves.

amazing but i gotta say, lucha libre wrestlers have put on weight in recent years.
and people make fun of V1 for his weight.
still, that was an amazing tiger feint!

Super Astro and Valiente are probably the bulkiest of the Lucha high flyers, and they fly like someone half their size, which is insane.
