One cool thing I noticed about Fong in this video series which I own... I put a mark with dry-erase felt pen on my TV screen at the spot in the air where he finishes a motion like the tan sau... he finishes precisely at the same point each & every time. This attests to the time & attention he has put in to train the small muscles to follow exact pathways; never straying.
Under pressure(ie in a fight) his motions would fairly operate on their own.

indeed, opponents will have to come to you to reach you, so keeping the elbow on the line keeps it in strong position, ''connected'' to the dan tien as it would.
hi, i was a practitionner under fong's lineage, in Ottawa, canada. I can confirm that no, the elbow must not over-extend, its intentional for the video, many other details are intentionaly wronged in them. I can assure you, that Fong truly deserves the title ''Master''. He focuses on wing chun's internal aspects(structures, timing, sensitivety and then physical tactics...a more external part), without em, we could only speak of outwardly imitating the motions.

Fong was taught by Ho Kam Ming who was Yip Man's student, although he changed some things.
