This video was made for the TPS (Temporary Protected Status for Haitians) Solidarity Vigil which was held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Historic Virginia Key Beach in Miami, FL. The purpose of this vigil was to bring awareness to the plight of Haitians aboard and to mourn in solidarity those that have lost their lives at sea in an attempt to come to America, however, died along the way. Belo's song was such an easy choice for the vigil because of the content of the song. It describes the life of misery on the island that has led thousands of Haitians every year to risk their lives on shanty, mischief boats just for the chance at a decent life. Belo, I thank you for such a wonderful song, and you are truly one of the greatest musical geniuses of our time. So speak about the trials, tribulations, and suffering of our people and we need more like you to bring attention to what is going on in the island of Haiti.
