Moonflower

An ode to the possibly mythical hallucinatory properties of Jimsonweed (AKA, moonflower, thornapple, and datura). It is highly recommended that no one actually experiment with this plant unless, of course, you are into a long, slow, painful demise... or so the other half of the myth goes.

I know some people will see this video as an endorsement of some sort and those people need to get a clue. I take a very neutral attitude toward drugs since I hate it when other people try to tell me what I should and should not think about something. I hate it even more when the government tries to dictate how I should feel about something!

i got a volunteer in my garden and it's enormous and blooming so i looked at videos to confirm and i find this one and all these amusing and hateful comments. quite hilarious. anyway, any suggestions as to what i should do with my plant?

I have several in my backyard. Once one plant goes to seed you'll wind up with hundreds of little plants. The flowers are quite nice and the seed pods are really interesting looking. I'm not 100% sure of the legality of cultivating datura (or allowing it to grow) since some people do experiment with the plant. (But orleanders can cause death if ingested and they're quite common and so I'm not sure what the legal logic would be... legal logic... now there's an oxymoron!)

it's the strongest delirium in the world. I've read a trip report of a guy who took 50 seeds while not even knowing what he was. he ended up in jail and he thought he was in his dad's car with his dad while he was in the cop car.. seriously.. if there is ANY drug you should'nt even think of taking it.. it's datura.

Datura is really bad your trip is just crap. I know people who took it and said it was just torture your hallucinating and you want it to stop your mouth feels like it's gonna crisp off from the intense cotton mouth. It sounds terrible you might as well just go do LSD or shrooms both are better and not poisonous like this shit.

p.s. yes of course i've tried them. fresh they taste like lettuce. i ate one flower and the rest of that day was a bit odd.

@blackturtleshow I see what you are saying. You stand by the positive aesthetic value of the plant, and make a distinction from the negative physiological effects. Interesting argument. I have never thought of that b4. In that case, i change my initial opinion: you CAN appreciate the plant, but still don't ingest it. Good shit.

@FreeBeDrug Why kill the plant just because STUPID people have died from it? As I said in the description for this video, Jimsonweed is deadly, but that has nothing to do with the value of the plant. It's a beautiful plant and if people want to experiment with it as a way to get high then they can deal with the outcome of that. As for morning glory, I'm sure it's a beautiful plant, but I'm not interested in ingesting that one either (even if it is somewhat less toxic).

@blackturtleshow i am talking about datura. Datura is bad for you. That is a fact. Datura causes dehydration, and people have died from it. Morning Glory on the other hand is a different story. Blackturtleshow, are you talking about datura or MG?
