Celebrating its 23rd season on PBS in 2010, POV features the work of the best independent documentary filmmakers from America and around the world. Airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m., June through September, with primetime specials during the year, POV has brought more than 300 award-winning documentaries to millions nationwide. POV is produced by American Documentary, Inc.

POV is public television's premiere showcase for documentary films, and is American television's longest-running independent documentary series. POV has been honored with a Special News & Documentary Emmy Award for Excellence in Television Documentary Filmmaking and the International Documentary Association Award for Best Continuing Series.

Since 1988, POV has pioneered the art of presentation and outreach using independent documentaries to engage communities in conversation about today's most pressing social issues.

  • China, but was just a baby when she adopted her, so she's grown up in American culture and her first language was English.

  • I am watching POV now online at PBS, 29:48 minutes into it, missed it on TV. And so far the biggest criticism I have on the mom, is her not truly learning some Mandarin to speak to Sui Yong with. And to really think that English is that easy to learn because I'd say it's easier to learn than other languages NO language is easy to learn in general, especially when you're 8. And she doesn't seem to realize the difference between Sui Yong and her other toddler daughter whom she also adopted from
