well, every SC player knows that you can program your platoons on a single "HOTKEY", so i don´t know what you mean by "SINGLE UNITS OUT"?? and one does start doing that from the beginning of the game, specially with the buildings, have you guys ever used "HOTKEYS"?
and yes, you can find a needle in a haystack if you program your "HOTKEYS" to your units and buildings properly
