Tight harmonies and stunning vocal percussion set Top Shelf apart from the crowd and provide an intense listening experience that is sure to please all ages. A breakaway from traditional a cappella, the men of Top Shelf dabble in various genres of music but find themselves drawn to the rock and roll of the 80s and 90s. With pitch pipe always at the ready and shenanigans abounding on and off stage, Top Shelf is sure to charm and captivate audiences wherever they may find themselves next. Youve tried the rest; now reach for the Top Shelf.

Formed in the spring of 2009 (at Central Michigan University) all four members of Top Shelf come from a unique background in music with a staggering seventeen years of collective a cappella singing.

  • Sorry for the late reply. I just watched "The General" and am still of the same opinion. I personally wouldn't mind drumming with the group, and I think he's got potential. Just needs some refining.. The tempo was good here, but was saky on "The General" I think the biggest issue is he's using too much air for volume. That limits his versatility. If he were to let the mic do the amplifying more, he could focus more on sound quality and diversity of his drum set rather then on being heard.

  • I will admit that this song has a very simple VP part and yes, Wes Carroll is amazing as is Jeff Thatcher from Rockapella and Andy from Inpulse. However if you were to watch "The General" or see Top Shelf live I think you would be slightly more impressed. This song just doesn't call for anything too amazing. It is amazing all on its own.

  • The only issue i have is calling that "stunning vocal percussion". Check out Mouth Drumming by Wes Carroll and he could easily achieve that claim, but other then that, it was pretty solid! Even the VP did it's job well, just wasn't mind-blowing. Everyone seemed very well-rehearsed and had a good sound and blend! I'd go see a show of their's if they played close by!

  • that was rockin'
