  • can anyone make out the writing on the bathroom wall?

  • Without watching the scene, it goes something like, "Temple Drake is Just a Fake/ She wants to have and eat her cake"....

  • This movie is fascinating. I can't believe no one's released it on DVD...

  • You might want to contact Universal Home Video and tell them this. :)

  • @vbabe11111 Temple Drake is just a fake/ She wants to eat and have her cake.

  • @vbabe11111 In the book, it is just her name, Temple Drake

  • Thanks so much for sharing this, by the way!

  • Miriam Hopkins is sexy. Women had real figures at that time; they wore those slinky, formfitting dresses that showed every feminine curve they possessed. I need to start dressing that way, I think.

  • With this rare public presentation today in Hollywood by TCM (4-24-2010), fans can rediscover fine work from cinematographer Karl Struss and a solid cast headed by Miriam Hopkins, whose performance as Temple Drake is one of the greatest "lost" performances in Hollywood history.

  • This film is being shown in Hollywood today (4-24-2010) as part of the TCM Movie Festival. A discussion by staff from the Museum of Modern Art in New York will be leading the discussion prior to the showing of the restored 35MM print! This role and movie with Miriam Hopkins is considered one of the best examples of the pre-code films with excellent cinematography by the renowned Karl Struss.

  • A newly restored print has been made by TCM, and will be part of the First TCM Festival during the latter part of April 2010 in Hollywood honoring Miriam Hopkins in this very controversial film. What a treasure!

  • lolol
