JOE ALBANY... A JAZZ LIFE, the critically acclaimed original 16mm documentary feature film made in 1980, winner of a London Film Festival Blue Ribbon and Certificate of Merit at the 1980 Chicago International Film Festival, is now available for the first time here on YouTube for free viewing- directly and exclusively from the filmmaker.
This is the only footage of Joe Albany in performance ever filmed. A rare bird indeed!

You're most welcome and thanks for watching! The live performance was shot in the summer of 1979 at The West End near Columbia U. on Broadway and 113th Street. Now it's Havana Central.

Mark Ruffalo has been replaced by John Hawkes. According to Production Weekly, Elle Fanning will also join the movie. I think that she will probably play his daughter.
