NOTE: I updated this video and added more footage plus subtitles due to the wind noise. See the new video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrLhHO... Jake Norton discovers the 1938 high camp on the Northeast Shoulder of Mount Everest in 2004. The camp, located in possibly the windiest spot on Everest, was all but abandoned in 1938 and left in the elements for 66 years. All that Jake discovered was a tent pole, some old cans, bits of tent material, and some pitons and other items.

Kind of disrespectful dude. You could at least properly photograph the find, pay a little respect to some great explorers before you start moving and going through some awesome stuff. Nice find but!!
Thanks Preacher60...But, I guess after 3 expeditions, 2 books, and a handful of documentaries I've been a part of telling the story of the pre-WWII climbers on Everest (and more since 2004), I feel like I've given quite a bit of respect to these great explorers, climbers, and people. And, I did "properly" photograph the scene, document the finds, and bring down the artifacts, something which is not super-simple at 27,500 in a raging storm. Sure, one can always do more, but...thanks again.
I do think its great, I thought you guys just came across it. These are the stories that need to be told and we 'history lovers' owe a debt of gratitude to people who risk life and limb to fill our books with such interesting facts. Thanks man.
