i've been looking all day i want to fix the problem with how my colors apear when i paint them on vs how they look on the color box thing. they always come out duller. HOW DO I GET THAT CIRCLE THAT CONTROLS THE MAX BRIGHTNESS OF A COLOR?

If your colors appear "different" when painting:
1) check View::Proof Setup and turn off any CMYK model
2) make sure View::Proof Colors is unchecked
Also make sure the Image::Mode is NOT CMYK
Brightness can be maximized in the color picker by the "B" setting in the Adobe Picker to 255. If you're using the Windows version of PS -- you can set the Adobe Picker from Preferences::General (should be the first item at the top.) The Apple Color picker has an HSB option available.
