So sorry that lady went nuts on you. I really think this rally just shows how people have given up politically. I feel like more and more people go to rallies and protests to just feel good about themselves and to seem involved, not that they have a clear idea about what to change or how they would go about doing it

Slacktivism is formed out of words slacker and activism. The word describes "feel-good" measures, in support of an issue or social cause, that have little or no practical effect other than to make the person doing it feel satisfaction. The acts tend to require little personal effort from the "Slacktivist".
Examples of Slactivism include signing internet petitions, wearing awareness bracelets, joining a Facebook group, posting videos, or taking part in short-term boycotts such as Buy Nothing Day.

Iraq war cost USA over 3 TRILLION USD, killing 1.4 Million women, men & children and occupying their country for Corporate/Israel profit. Afghanistan cost over 1 Trillion dollars with NO end in sight. Bush Extreme Tax Cuts For the Richest Cost USA 4 TRILLION. Wall-Street bailed out with 23.7 TRILLION of YOUR tax money. 3 TRILLION went to Israel for FREE. Pentagon spends 1.8 TRILLION a year. But Stewart-Cult IGNORES ALL OF IT, they LOVE to Please GOP, they Attack Truth-tellers & Progressives. WTF

Uh...You "foisted" your snarky treatment on people, not hoisted.
Hard to take a message seriously when a speaker apparently doesn't know what he's saying.

You didn't create slacktivist. codepink has been using that for along time.

I have a sudden urge to drop Bob Black quotes.

@roguefactionMX2012 LOL! In what alternate universe?
@moscowmasha
Also, is there ever a time when we SHOULD look to the past to create the best society that we can? I don't know, but I'd rather not completely discount that possibility. Isn't one of our main problems the fact that we continually forget history, and are hence doomed to repeat it?
Okay, I think I'm done. Sorry to take up so much space in the comments (again).

@davisfleetwood - When you say "regressive" right-wing politics, do you mean that in a disparaging way? When faced with a disparaging reality, regressing, IMHO is like progressing - coming from a central situation, they seem like they a common effort of change. And when you say "racist", are you getting this from your own experience of attending extreme right Tea Party events? I ask this because I have always believed racism is an underlying bipartisan problem.
