I'm not an expert... so i'm not going to give an exact definition between the two but... Manta rays, which are shown in this video are naturally larger than sting rays. sting rays use the barb at the end as a defense/attack/hunt tool ( not sure which one ) which will give you a pretty nasty hit if your stung by one, if your lucky enough not to die. Other than that, both come from the 'ray' species. theres some other different aspects like lungs, mouth and eye position. googleit

Saw one yesterday off of breakers hotel in palm beach ... Was peoberly 12 ft.. He was just sitting there in the middle of the water .. When he saw us he came a little closer.. I must say it was the most beautiful thing ever.. People need to stop poluting the waters to ensure that these beautiful animals are around for a long time!
